WHO: Cedric Vongerichten is the executive chef and co-owner of Wayan and Ma•dé (with wife Ochi), a new restaurant that draws inspiration from the sandy beaches of Bali for both its menu and décor, and is located in the heart of SoHo at 22 Spring Street.

ABOUT: Vongerichten, born in Bangkok, has worked at London’s Berkeley Hotel, Hong Kong’s Mandarin Oriental, and the influential restaurant El Bulli, in Barcelona. He rose through the ranks at several Jean-Georges restaurants and was appointed chef de cuisine at Perry St. In 2019, he opened the doors of Wayan, which is a New York Times Critics Pick. Just next door he opened Ma•dé, where he serves a menu of fresh seafood and vegetable-centric dishes that emphasize global flavors and ingredients from diverse corners of the world.

WHAT: This will be a multi-course cooking demo and charity class raising money for City Harvest, New York's first and largest food rescue organization. Over the past 40 years, they have rescued and distributed over one BILLION pounds of food for our neighbors across the five boroughs who are struggling to put meals on the table. The organization also provides nutrition education, strengthens local food systems, advocates for anti-hunger policies, and connects volunteers with opportunities to help their neighbors. Both Cedric and Sal are proud members of the City Harvest Food Council.

A portion of ticket sales along with 100% of the auction items will be donated to City Harvest!
